John Ciardullo is a licensed Architect and the Principal of John Ciardullo Associates, P.C., an Architectural and Planning firm that he established in 1970. Through his years of designing hundreds of projects, both new buildings and the renovation of virtually all building types, he has gained a vast amount of first hand knowledge and expertise. Mr. Ciardullo is a highly respected architect, with a skill-set that includes Structural Design, City and Regional Planning, Civil Design and Hydraulic Filtration Design.

Mr. Ciardullo received his Masters of Architecture in 1967 from Harvard University Graduate School of Design where he also taught Structural Engineering.

His interest in Architecture began at the High School of Music and Art in New York City. He chose to pursue an Engineering Degree at Bradley University in preparation for future graduate work in Architecture.

Prior to studying Architecture at Harvard, Mr. Ciardullo began his professional career in Structural Engineering with the French firm, Freyssinet Company, specializing in prefabricated and prestressed concrete structures both in the U.S. and abroad. He was also employed as a Structural Designer on institutional and corporate projects for noted architects, such as Marcel Breuer, while working with Wiesenfeld and Leon, Consulting Engineers.

While studying Architecture at Harvard, Mr. Ciardullo was an employee in the office of Paul Weidlinger Consulting Engineers. As Project Engineer and Structural Designer in this office, he had the opportunity to work with Walter Gropius, Jose Luiz Sert, Piero Belluschi and Eduardo Catalano on the structural designs of educational, municipal and office buildings.

Before establishing his own Architectural and Planning firm, Mr. Ciardullo was associated with the architectural firms of Perkins and Will in Chicago and Davis Brody Associates in New York as an Architectural Designer and Planner working on educational facilities.

In addition to his architectural practice, Mr. Ciardullo has taught design and various Structural Engineering courses at Pratt Institute in the Department of Architecture. He also served as an Instructor and Director of the first year Planning Studio in the City and Regional Planning Department. He was Associate Professor of Architecture at Columbia University where he taught second year Architectural Design Studio and was coordinator of the Building Technology curriculum.
